Here at Cal Auctions, we’re thinking of ways that we can give back to the community this holiday season. There are so many families in the San Diego area who cannot afford to have Christmas presents for their children. It is only right to offer our support to the Toys For Tots program.
From now until December 16th, you can bring new and unwrapped toys to our warehouse during weekdays from 9AM-3PM. We’d love it if you could help spread the word and tell your friends!

If you’re not familiar with Toys For Tots, it was founded in 1947 by Major Bill Hendricks, a Major in the Marine Corp Reserves. His wife wanted to give a homemade Raggedy Ann doll to a needy child but could not find an organization to donate the doll to.
Major Hendricks got together with other Marine reservists and collected several thousand toys for children in the local Los Angeles area. They set up bins in front of the Warner Brothers movie theaters. This campaign was so successful that they decided to launch a national campaign. In 1995, Toys For Tots finally became an official mission of the Marine Corp Reserve.
The mission of the Toys For Tots program is to collect new and unwrapped toys during the months of October, November, and December every year. All of the toys are distributed to needy children during the holiday season.
Toys for Tots conducts local campaigns in over 800 communities in all 50 states, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. People can donate toys at authorized businesses where collection bins are located.
