Week by week Cal Auctions continues to grow, and we’re excited to be expanding into a second warehouse!
This huge warehouse is in the same complex that our current warehouse is (just across the parking lot), which will give us more room for the estate side. We’ve been working hard to make our next estate sale look like an actual showroom in a furniture store…
Yes, all the items in these pictures will be auctioned off, so stay tuned! There will be alot of modern furniture, plus a ton of unique African masks from a long-time collector. If you haven’t subscribed to our mailing list, make sure to do so via the box at the bottom of this page.
The new warehouse is about the same size as the current warehouse and will house all the tools, machinery, and other commercial auctions. It’s a current work-in-progress, but by the time you read this post we’ll be ready for our first auction.

Managing clients and team members can become overwhelming as your business grows. Having a good ole’ trusty calendar and making a daily To Do list can work wonders when your mind becomes overloaded with projects.
Having a system in place for project tasks is also important. The software we use to catalogue auction items was recently upgraded, so we’ve had to come up with a more efficient way of processing each item. It’s been a matter of trial-and-error and we’re still working out the kinks. For the most part we have a general system going that keeps everyone engaged.
When change occurs, find out what is and what isn’t working from your team members and clients. Create a culture of honest and open communication.
It’s one thing to gather feedback from people, but it’s another thing to actually listen and implement that feedback. If someone offers a suggestion, be open to trying it out. We recently received a letter from a customer who offered feedback about our auction descriptions. He thought the descriptions were a little too wordy, so we’ve been working on creating more concise wording to describe each item.
