5 Things You May Not Know About Cal Auctions

5 things about Cal Auctions

Are you a fairly new customer and want to learn more about our processes? Do you want information about us not mentioned on our FAQ page? Or do you just think we’re a pretty cool company and want to get to know us better? This post is dedicated to you. Here is some of our “insider” information that you may not know…

We have several auction partners located across the nation.

If you browse the homepage of our site, you will notice auctions located in San Diego are listed first. Also, you will see that there are quite a few auctions located in the Virginia and Washington D.C. area.

You can have an item(s) shipped to you.

As the winning bidder on an item, you are responsible for picking up the item on removal day. However, if you are not local to San Diego, you still have options. We do have a shipping company, Pakmail, that can pick up and ship the item on your behalf. Likewise, you are also welcome to arrange any other shipping service you prefer.

Update: Please note that Pakmail now offers local delivery to the San Diego metro area.

The first 10-15 items in each auction are the goodies.

We generally catalog items in numerical order, however, typically we put what we think are the “coolest” items in the first 10-15 slots. Of course, what we think is cool may be different from what you think is cool, so there are certainly always hidden gems in the catalog.

You can search for items by keyword or lot number using the search box at the top of each page in the catalog. You can also filter items by category.

We offer bulk sales to sellers.

If you’re interested in selling off your business inventory, but don’t want to go through the process of an online auction, there is an option for us to buy everything in bulk. This can benefit sellers who are on a time restriction and need a quick sale.

We have a Chief Puppy Officer.

If you’re a fan on Facebook, you probably saw this picture of “Cal” (a.k.a. Finn) who is in charge of putting smiles on all of our faces. He’s the only one who has a bed in the office and can take mid-day naps. What a great job he has, right?

Are you curious about what else we do on a day-to-day basis? We do have a page where you can learn more about our team who work tirelessly (well, most days) to get all auction items catalogued including writing descriptions, taking pictures, and marketing each event. We’ll answer your questions on our Facebook page and also update this blog post with questions and answers.
