Ahh, classic cars. Whether you collect them for investment purposes or simply just love the cars, they stir up nostalgic feelings and memories of the “good ole days”.
It’s only once in awhile that we auction off a classic car, and in our warehouse estate auction for August we have two classic cars up for grabs that you don’t want to miss.
If you’re a fan of our Facebook page, you’ve probably already seen our post and caught a glimpse of this 1956 Ford Thunderbird convertible beauty…
As of the writing of this post, we already have bids at $12,300 for this Thunderbird and the catalog has only been up less than 2 days. It was stored in a garage, is very nice and clean, but it does have a few nicks and dents, plus some possible rodent damage to the engine area. With minimal TLC this classic could be a great investment. Hagerty currently values the 1956 Thunderbird at $75,700 if it’s in immaculate condition.
The first generation of Thunderbirds were produced from 1955-1957 and became an instant success. It challenged Chevy’s Corvette with a body made of steel and a V8 engine to boot. Ford sold 15,631 of the ’56 model and made its mark in the personal luxury car world.
The second classic car up for auction is a 1966 Cadillac Eldorado 2-door convertible in a gorgeous emerald green color. This is a great project car for the right person who appreciates those massive fins, a style that Cadillac started back in 1949. True fans will have no problem restoring this back to its original glory.
The Eldorado is a car that brings to mind adjectives such as “prestigious” and “legendary”. It was first produced in 1953 and made a debut in 4 colors: Alpine White, Artisan Ochre, Aztec Red and Azure Blue. This is definitely a car with a rich heritage spanning 10 generations. 2002 was the last year the Eldorado was produced, but the new Elmiraj bears some resemblance to the classic.
Both cars are available in the Combined Asset Estate Online Auction that starts closing on Sunday, August 13th at 5:07 PM PST with preview days in our San Diego warehouse on Thursday, August 10th from 3-7PM and Friday, August 11 from 8:30AM-4PM.
