If you absolutely don’t have the cash to buy things to resell, one way you could get started making money is to get things for free. Craigslist has a “Free” category in their “For Sale” section where people list items they just want to give away and get rid of quickly. Of course, you should be very discerning about what you pick up. You have to make sure you’ll even make enough money to make it worth the time and effort.
If you live in an apartment complex, you might have an area where people leave stuff to give away. You could even go “dumpster diving” in apartment complexes near colleges or universities. You’d be surprised by what students will throw away! You could make money off this stuff instead of those things just clogging up a dump somewhere.
Making money with online auctions can be fun if you’re the type of person who likes to hunt for bargains. It all comes down to the amount of effort you want to put into it.
