How Do I Sell Estate Items?

If you’re in the Southern California area and thinking about liquidating estate assets, this article will answer some of the most common questions we get. Whether you’re downsizing your home, moving, or need to liquidate a family member’s estate, we can help sell just about anything.

Once you contact us, our estate specialist will set up a consultation to see what types of items you have and if they would be a good fit for our online auctions. Items that do well in our online auctions include mid-century furniture, collectibles, antiques, fine jewelry, original art, antiques, and more.

The commission you will pay for selling items with us will depend on several factors that our estate specialist will discuss with you. It will also be outlined in the contract you will sign before we start processing your items.

Depending on how many items you want to sell, we may keep everything in your home and process all the items on-site, or we may bring them to our warehouse. We do not offer previews for estate sales, so you do not have to worry about people coming into your home.

Our asset advisors will write descriptions and take photos of all the items to be listed. This process can take up to 2 weeks. If there is something that you would like potential buyers to know about a specific item, let us know so that we can include it in the description. Also, if you are selling signed items, we highly recommend including a certificate of authenticity if you have one.

Once the items are listed on our site, we get to work marketing the auction. We market the auction through various channels including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Craigslist, plus various estate sale directories. We also send a weekly notification to our email subscribers.

The auction will be live on our site for 1-2 weeks. During this time, buyers can register and begin to bid on items in the auction. The starting bid for items is $3.00 with no reserves.

Once the auction is complete and customers have picked up their items, we will send out a check minus our commission for all the items that sold.

If you have any questions about selling estate items in our online auctions, feel free to reach out to us. You can also check out our Sellers page for more information.
