Tap into your network of friends, families, and fellow restaurant owners to see if anyone might know someone who knows someone who would be interested in buying from you.

Social Media

Speaking of word of mouth, social media can be a powerful tool to help sell your used restaurant equipment. You could browse Facebook groups, Twitter, or LinkedIn to find restaurant owners in your area. If you have accounts with these social sites, create your own post to notify your followers about what you’re selling. They just might share your post with their friends/followers. Sites like Facebook also offer paid advertising so you could create an ad to show up in people’s timelines.

Sell to a restaurant supply and equipment store

If there are any restaurant equipment stores in your area, you could see if they buy used items.

Online auctions

If you want a hands-off approach to selling your restaurant equipment, you can try an auction house that specializes in online auctions. They can take care of all the pictures and marketing of anything you want to sell.

Before you sell your restaurant equipment, make sure to clean your equipment and put together the warranties and manuals for each item. It also helps to know what the fair market value is for your equipment so you have an edge when negotiating a price.
