  • Signed Woodstock Poster
Signed Woodstock Poster titled; 3 DAYS of PEACE & MUSIC. Signed by the artist and designer Arnold Skolnick plus signatures by Richie Havens and Grace Slick. This piece was in our last auction and was incorrectly described as an original poster. The signatures are in fact original, but the poster is a replica reprint of the iconic 1969 version from the Music Festival that became legend. The winning bidder of this piece took it to get reframed with Museum Glass and Acid Free Foam Core Backing (FCB). After hours of research, he discovered it was a reprint rather than an original, which are very rare and so decided to return it despite the improvements made. This was a $111 upgrade improvement to the already beautiful and historic piece signed by none other than Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane, Richie Havens (1941-2013) who was the opening act at Woodstock, plus the Artist and designer of the poster, Arnold Skolnick (1937-2022). Receipt for the work done is included with this Lot. Good luck Bidding on this cool poster honoring an historic musical event. - Lot 11023 Dimension: 27W 34H

  • Jean-Claude Picot Signed Giclee
Giclee in color on canvas with embellishments and signed by the artist in the plate. Titled La BALANCOIRE des VACENCES, 2021. Inlcudes Appraisal ($970) Letter (2022), Registration Number and COA from Park West Gallery. Canvas measures 11.25W x 14H. Professionally Framed. Comes in a Large Padded Shipping Box for Protection and Safe Transport. See photos. Acclaimed artist Jean Claude Picot was greatly influenced by the works of the Fauvist masters like Vlaminck, Derain, and Matisse, whose exuberant canvases drew great attention in the first decade of the 20th century for their revolutionary use of color, texture, and abstract form. These artists inspired Picot for decades and you can find many similar characteristics in his work. Picot developed a unique style that recalls a Post-Impressionist application of color, combined with the expressive qualities of form and line. His compositions are often calming, possessing his personal joie de vivre. He frequently captured the animation, romance, and essence of the landscape as his favored subject, although he also painted still lifes, cityscapes, markets, and festival scenes. All of his work is imbued with the same bright and cheerful character and is instantly identifiable. Beginning in 1947, he exhibited in over fifty one-person shows throughout the world including exhibitions in the United States, Belgium, Norway, and Australia. Picot lived part of each year in the south of France and often found inspiration in the Cote dÕAzur Ð its visitors, beaches, and boat-filled harbors. His work abounds with natural beauty, featuring breathtaking panoramic views charged with the unique light of the Mediterranean. Picot worked in a Post-Impressionist manner, reducing flowers, trees, houses, and figures to their essential forms. In the reviews of PicotÕs solo shows in Paris, Bordeaux, and Oslo, the critics cited the affinities between the masters of Impressionism and early 20th-century Fauvism with PicotÕs work. In his later years, Picot continued the tradition of important French landscape painters until he passed away in August of 2020. Picot actively worked in many media Ð oil, acrylic, watercolor, etching, ceramic, and more recently, serigraphy and embellished serigraphy Ð which beautifully captured his vibrant color and painterly technique. His work remains a favorite of collectors internationally and is represented in prestigious collections worldwide. - Lot 11020 Dimension: 19.5W 1.5D 22H

Najar's work is characterized by coiled brushstrokes, rippling patterns, and saturated hues. Najar uses nature and his love for artists like the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists as inspiration. Najar paints spontaneously, instinctively choosing colors to express his emotions. Najar coins his vivid portrayals of nature as Contemporary Expressionism.
